Jessica Collett is a visual artist, currently working in photography and social research.

Collett’s photographic practice began through interest in sociological frameworks and the consequences of human behaviour.

Her work often probes questions about our societal structure. In her most recent project, To be Trusted With a Hammer, Collett has drawn attention to the UK’s educational system. Through different photographic techniques she has documented an alternative way of learning that incorporates tactility and play.

Previously, she has created more personal works, looking introspectively at her childhood - often working through collaboration.

Whilst also being a founding member of Zinnia Collective, Collett has presented her work nationally through several institutions and galleries, such as Bell House, London and The Poly, Falmouth.
